Laura and Manel
Over 30 years ago, we decided to trade the noise of the city for the silence of the mountains. We’ve always been lovers of nature, skiing, hiking, and long conversations by the fireplace. We wanted a calmer, fuller life — and we found it here, at Refugio Pere Carné.
Caring for this place is our way of sharing that choice with those who visit us: a simple, cozy, and authentic space to rest, recharge, and return to the mountains with renewed energy.
Today, we welcome hikers, cyclists, skiers, and travelers who seek the same — to pause, feel, and reconnect.

The history of the refuge

The Pere Carné Refuge opened its doors in 1955 as one of the first refuges in La Molina, created for hikers and mountain lovers. Since then, it has been a meeting point for generations of walkers, cyclists, and skiers.
In tribute to Pere Carné Serra, a pioneer of Catalan mountaineering, the refuge bears his name as a symbol of roots and legacy.
Today, under the care of Laura and Manel, it remains an authentic space where nature, rest, and human warmth come together.
We are different: we’re not a hotel, we’re a refuge with soul
